The Directorate General Environment of the European Commission will announce the winners of the 2008 edition of the European EMAS Awards on 20th November in Brussels, in the prestigious theatre palace of the art deco Hotel Plaza.

The European EMAS Awards 2008 is the most prestigious award in environmental management and has been handed to top companies and local authorities since 2005. This year%u2019s EMAS Awards will focus on the emissions of GHGs, energy consumption and energy efficiency. More than 30 organisations have been nominated from all over Europe for their outstanding performance in terms of using renewable energy, the optimisation of processes with cleaner technologies, etc.
